GET DOWN . . .
and celebrate New Year’s Eve
“Down Under”
in Astonishing Sydney, Australia
November 8, 2016
As the first snowflakes start to fall in New York City, signs of spring are popping up everywhere in the vibrant and exciting city of Sydney, Australia. Sydney is host to many spectacular events including a FABULOUS NEW YEAR’S EVE!! (Shown above) It’s not too late to book a charter in the Southern Hemisphere and enjoy a nice warm New Year’s Eve Celebration in Sydney Harbor.
You could spend a week exploring the Sydney Harbour Islands. (click for sample itinerary). There are more than 20 ferrys that continually ply the waters from Sydney to these islands, but on your own private yacht you can relax without worrying about ferry schedules while visiting Cockatoo Island, Goat Island, Manly Bay or Watsons Bay. Each with its own unique character and history to share with its guests.
Outside Sydney there is a huge country – actually an entire continent. And like most continents, it features a variety of landscapes and cultures. For yachting holidays the most popular destinations are on the east coast and include the famous Great Barrier Reef and the amazing 74 islands known as the Whitsundays where you can go ashore and explore the mostly uninhabited islands.

An alternate amazing itinerary for cruising on a yacht, is the Whitsunday Islands (click for sample itinerary). These idylic islands are ideal for dropping anchor in a quiet cove with a private beach. The Great Barrier Reef shelters the islands from the weather so the water is always clear and calm. Whitehaven Beach (below) is one of, if not THE best beach in the world. Seven kilometers of baby powder fine pure white silica sand that actually squeaks as you walk down the beach.

Of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays, only 7 currently have resorts and most are uninhabited. For nature lovers this is an idyllic destination.

Words and even photos can’t begin to describe the incredible beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. The amazing coral and species of fish create the world’s largest aquarium and encompass 900 islands stretching more than 133,000 sq. miles. And it is no ordinary aquarium. It is breathtakingly beautiful. If this destination is not on your ‘bucket list’, it should be.
