Can you imagine swimming with one of these gargantuan whale sharks? Why not escape the cold and snow for a few days and come down to La Paz, Mexico!?!? The sun is shining, the water is warm, nature is all around you and history abounds. Even if it’s only for a 3 or 4 day weekend – the change will do you good.

It’s just a short flight from almost anywhere in the US and non-stops abound.

WHY LA PAZ and THE SEA OF CORTEZ
For starters there is the short flight mentioned above. Then you have the Sea of Cortez, a protected waterway between Baja California Sur and Mexico. The Sea of Cortez offers one of the most diverse and expansive assortments of sealife in the world. From sea lions, to whale sharks to tortoises the list goes on and on. Enjoy snorkeling, diving, fishing, kayaking, mountain bike riding or just lying on a beautiful white sand beach.
While there are many beautiful beaches to enjoy, the Sea of Cortez is not a beach town resort type of destination. Instead you will find a provincial atmosphere of small Mexican towns filled with color and life and music and history. The area is part of an Unesco World Heritage site comprising 244 Sea of Cortez islands and coastal areas.
