As yachts get larger and larger every year, now ranging in size to more than 600’ (184m), people have endeavored to find new terminology to define yachts in this vast range.  Some want to use solely the length of the yacht, others insist on certain features like helipads, and more than one swimming pool.  But the reality is, there is no clear definition.  What you can be sure of, however, is the larger the yacht, the more crew members they will have to pamper their guests and provide the best chefs, masseuses, fitness instructors, water toys and more. These yachts will offer an experience that far exceeds any FIVE star hotel or spa. Opulence and luxury are beyond the imagination of many.  And you don’t have to own the yacht to enjoy these experiences.  Many are available for charter with rates that can run into millions of dollars a week.

For purposes of definition on our website, we have chosen the following definitions:

We’re not going to bother with ‘Gigayachts’ – whatever that may mean.

Superyachts” are defined as any yacht 220’ or longer.  We chose this cutoff since the 200 largest yachts in the world are in this range.

From the iconic 325’ M/Y CHRISTINA O that has a base rate starting at 560,000 Euros in low season plus all expenses – to the more recently built yachts like the 446’ M/Y FLYING FOX that charters from 3,500,000 Euros a week plus expenses. These ‘Superyachts’ epitomize the lifestyles of the the rich and famous.

Megayachts” are defined as any yacht between 140’ and 220’ and will guarantee to pamper the guests and offer a plethora of toys and services.  One example would be the 196’ (60m) Ramble on Rose that has seven cabins with 15 crew to pamper you and charters from $375,000 USD per week plus expenses.

Yachts” are defined as any yacht between 80’ and 140’

Even the smaller yachts such as HOT PURSUIT, an 88’ (26m) 2017 Princess, offers four staterooms and a crew is of 4 that will offer a week of charter starting at only $47,500 USD plus expenses.
